Student Highlights

Congratulations to our student of the month: Norah Allam!

Norah is a first-year PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Tech in Dr. Ye Zhang’s lab. Her research focuses on integrating microfluidic tools, such as the suspended microchannel resonator, with complementary molecular techniques to connect the physical properties of individual cells with their molecular states and functions. Through this work, she hopes to better understand cellular differences that contribute to disease and treatment response. Although Norah joined SBES only a few months ago, she is excited to continue getting involved in the VTech community through BMES and SWE events!
